Hiking Trails
Here are two of our favorite hiking trails!
Vermilion Gorge: A 2 minute walk to the trail head from Scott's, go north past the Voyageurs National Park office, where the road Y's stay left, then turn left again into a parking area. The trail starts on the northwest corner of the clearing. It is roughly an easy three mile hike, with some incline and slippery rocks so be sure to dress appropriately.
Vermilion River Trail: An easy 10-minute hike on a well-maintained trail. Drive about 2 minutes on the main highway, heading out of Crane Lake and there will be signs on the right guiding you to the forest service road. The falls is a cascading torrent of water forced through a 10-foot-wide opening in the granite. Picnic tables along the way, keep small children close.
Voyageurs National Park
Explore the beautiful maze of interconnected water highways at this water-based park. With lots of island campsites, sandy beaches, and warm waters, you will never fall short of things to do.
